Martial art schools around the world are joining together for a charity board and block breaking Break-a-thon to raise money to break the chain of child abuse. Proceeds from the LA event will go to the Center for Assault Treatment Services at the Northridge Medical Center. Martial arts schools are encouraged to gather sponsors to make donations for breaking boards and blocks. Non-martial artists are invited to join us and make donations to learn how to break boards and try their hand at it.

The Break the Chain Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit group founded in 2006 by a group of socially conscious martial artists with the objective of creating a more peaceful world. The majority of the foundations work is directed towards children's charities. More than 1,000,000 children a year are the victims of neglect and abuse with more than 2,000 deaths per year. The Break-A-Thon for the Prevention of Child Abuse is the largest fundraiser conducted by the Break the Chain Foundation, Inc. raising tens of thousands of dollars annually. Proceeds from this year's event will go to the Center for Assault Treatment Services (www.abuse-assaultservices.org) at the Northridge Hospital Medical Center.
